Murray Snyder (1911-1969) was born in Brooklyn, New York. He attended college in San Antonio, Texas, and worked as a sports reporter for the San Antonio Light, from 1928 to 1929. He later worked for the Brooklyn Eagle, serving in New York, Albany and Washington, D.C. After briefly working as a press aide for the Borough President, he joined the staff of the New York Post where he worked as a reporter.
